What is FemTech, why is it one of the fastest-growing industries today, and how can it benefit us all?
This engaging lecture introduces FemTech (Female Technology)—innovative solutions tailored to women's unique needs. While technology has long been part of women’s healthcare (e.g., pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding), FemTech goes beyond that, addressing critical gender-specific gaps in health, safety, and daily life.
For example, women have a 17% higher risk of dying in car accidents because crash test dummies are designed for the average male body. Similarly, medical research often excludes women, leading to ineffective drug dosages and overlooked symptoms in conditions like heart disease.
With growing awareness of these disparities, FemTech is driving groundbreaking innovations in healthcare and well-being, including personalized medicine, digital health platforms, and AI-driven diagnostics. It also tackles social challenges such as workplace inequality, personal safety, and access to reproductive care.
Beyond ethics, gender-conscious design is a business advantage, enhancing user experience and market reach. Organizations are realizing that inclusive technology isn’t just about fairness—it fuels economic growth and innovation.
This lecture explores FemTech’s evolution, its challenges and opportunities, and how it is reshaping the lives of women worldwide.
Hopefully that by the end of my lecture, you will feel inspired to start your own FemTech initiative.
