As an engineering manager, I used to warn my team — especially junior developers — about the risks of relying too heavily on AI tools.
I knew it could lead to copy-paste coding, less critical thinking, and a false sense of learning.
But when I recently went back to hands-on development, I experienced it firsthand.
Working with tools like Cursor and ChatGPT, I caught myself letting the AI drive — instead of truly understanding what was happening under the hood.
That experience changed the way I think about how we learn and teach development in the age of AI.
In this talk, I’ll share my personal journey of rediscovering development with AI, what it taught me about mindful coding, and how we as leaders can help junior developers build real understanding — not just working code.

Women in tech continue to face systemic barriers—including unconscious bias, limited access to resources, and a lack of supportive networks—that hinder their professional growth. This talk delves into why empowering women through dedicated, inclusive communities is essential for building a more diverse and innovative tech industry.

Drawing from real-world experience building a thriving women developers' community, the session outlines the early challenges, the creative strategies used to overcome them, and the practical steps that transformed a small initiative into a meaningful force for change. Attendees will explore the community’s milestones—from impactful mentorship programs and hands-on workshops to events that boosted members’ confidence and accelerated their careers.

Beyond inspiration, the talk provides a concrete, step-by-step framework for starting and scaling similar initiatives within any organization. Participants will gain actionable tools, templates, and ideas they can immediately apply to foster supportive environments for women in tech.

By sharing lessons learned and a vision for the future, this session aims to equip attendees with both the motivation and the roadmap to create communities that help women thrive—and, in turn, strengthen the entire tech ecosystem.
