It's never easy and can be quite overwhelming as a manager to figure out how to start managing a new team. Moreover, how do you do that when you are not only joining a new team, but also joining a new company?

Should I learn by doing dev tasks?
When should I start making changes according to what I already know?
When is the right time to start managing?
If It’s team of seniors, how do I fit in? All these questions were running in my head and I'm sure I wasn't the only one feeling that way when entering a new team.

I started at Wix as a Team Lead of 4 senior developers who had previously worked in different groups within Wix . It was a challenge to understand how to start managing such a team while also learning Wix's way of doing things. I had to learn it all from scratch.
In this talk I will share my personal experience, what worked and didn’t work for me and hopefully, you will find it useful for you as well.
