Emily is an accidental entrepreneur, taking on the challenge later in life after a straightforward career in direct marketing and then time out of the industry to have her children. With four under the age of six and the chances of finding a role that would fit around the family needs pretty slim she decided to make a role to fit around the family. Founding My Action Replay with two partners Emily filled all the roles that weren't 'tech' and would often sum it up that way - as a non-specific role. Nearly ten years later and in the second of her successful tech companies, this time in Intelligent Video in the transport industry, Emily still doesn't have a neat answer to what her role is and has battled with the imposter syndrome which many, particularly women, suffer from as their career progresses.
