Dr Kerry Halupka is a Machine Learning Engineer at Canva, with a special interest in computer
vision, content understanding and AI ethics. Kerry has worked in many and diverse areas pertaining to human computer interactions and machine learning. She completed her PhD at Melbourne University where she applied her knowledge of visual processing and robotics to help develop the bionic eye. She then worked at IBM, delving deeper into the growing field of Artificial Intelligence, by training computers to diagnose diseases and predict optimal treatment plans. She has also worked in the public sector as a Lead Data Scientist, using cutting edge machine learning technology to help solve the Government’s hardest problems.
