Dominika Rogala is the founder of Good Job Coffee and a leadership advisor to tech leaders. She has held engineering leadership roles from Engineering Manager to VP of Engineering and now helps engineering leaders build healthier, more effective organizations.

She works with CTOs, engineering leaders, and companies of different sizes on burnout, motivation, sustainable leadership, team design, and decision-making. Her approach is rooted in systems thinking: most problems that appear to be about people are shaped by the way work is designed.

She has been speaking at conferences for years, including LeadDev London and re:develop, covering engineering leadership, team organization, and a systemic approach to burnout.

Four dimensions of burnout: An anti-burnout framework for the AI era

Leadership, Professional Development, Data / AI / ML, Diversity and Inclusion

Burnout doesn't happen because people stop caring. It happens because they care, keep adapting, and keep taking on more. Using the four-dimensional burnout model, this talk explores how modern tech work, AI-driven acceleration, and growing demands shape the way we work and the way we lead.

You leave with a practical three-step framework. MAP burnout risk across the four dimensions. LOCATE where it actually lives in the system using the Job Demands-Resources model. APPLY two levers: reducing demands and rebuilding resources.

The focus is on the system, because that is where the biggest impact comes from. Most of what looks like a personal problem is shaped by how the work is designed.

Best for: engineering managers, tech leads, CTOs, and senior engineers leading growing teams or introducing AI into their organizations.

A leader's work is becoming increasingly psychological, yet almost none of us are trained for it. You manage other people's emotions all day, and your own state quietly determines whether a situation energizes you or drains you.

This talk is a practical guide to sustainable leadership. It covers managing energy instead of just time, finding recharge techniques that fit you, reducing stress during the workday, and building support before you need it. It draws on five years of work focused on managers' mental well-being, combined with my own lived experience.

You leave with three go-to recharge techniques, practical anti-stress routines that fit into any schedule, and a simple framework for protecting your capacity as a leader.

Best for: engineering managers, founders, CTOs, and senior leaders balancing the demands of leading teams and organizations.

Burnout is a property of how work is designed, and AI is exposing the weak spots. Using the Job Demands-Resources model, this hands-on workshop explores why teams run out of energy. Demands increase through constant re-prioritization, reviewing AI output instead of creating it, and relentless context switching, while the resources that once absorbed those demands gradually disappear. The promised efficiency quietly turns into higher expectations.

Together we map your team's demands and resources, locate where burnout risk actually sits in the system, and work two levers: reducing demands and rebuilding resources. You leave with a practical action plan and a short list of changes you can make without waiting for more headcount.

This workshop expands on my LeadDev London talk Four Dimensions of Burnout with hands-on exercises, discussion, and team-specific analysis. It is a system-first workshop, not a wellness session, and runs online or in person, as a standalone workshop or as part of an away day.

Best for: engineering managers, CTOs, and other engineering leaders leading growing teams or introducing AI into their organizations.
