Chloe chose a slightly non-traditional route to her career as a software engineer by opting for an apprenticeship after sixth form rather than going to University.
Throughout her time as an apprentice at American Express, Chloe gave talks and workshops at external outreach events to encourage young women to have careers in software engineering, this led to her colleagues nominating her for the FDM Everywoman In Tech Apprentice Award for which she was a finalist in 2022.
Since then Chloe has worked in the financial sector as a backend engineer for over four years, garnering a wealth of technical knowledge of tools such as Java, Kotlin, AWS and Apache Kafka. Alongside this, she has continued her work towards women's empowerment through attending women in tech events, giving talks internally at her places of work on women's lived experiences in the industry and volunteering with women's domestic abuse charities in her spare time.
