Alina is a marine microbiologist working on light triggered proteins in microorganisms. She has a BSc and MSc in biomedical sciences from the Hebree University of Jerusalem, and holds a PhD from the Technion. During her doctorate she discovered a new family of microbial rhodopsins, and published her research in "Nature".
