We know maternity leave can be challenging; it doesn’t matter if it’s your first or third time around. We also understand that you might feel like your brain is not as sharp as it used to be, and that’s ok; you’re tired and going through a significant transition in your life. We know; we’ve been there too.

That’s why we partnered up with monday.com to host this meetup for women in R&D on maternity leave, aimed exclusively *for you*! We want to make sure that you’re also taking the time to take care of yourself and YOUR needs.

monday.com is a perfect match for hosting this event since they are extremely proud of their mom employees and have made it their priority to enrich the community with empowering content.

If you’re eager for some professional and inspiring content and for some networking with top industry leaders who know what you’re going through, this is the event for you (along with your baby)!

//Work Life Balance - You Keep Using That Word...

A software engineer walks into a job interview and asks if the company has work-life-balance…

This is not a start to a joke, but a far-from-ideal reality.

Many companies talk about work-life-balance, but very few actually manage to provide it. Why is that? Let me share a little secret with you: it's because no one seems to know what WLB really is. And what's worse is, nobody is willing to admit that.

In this talk I will discuss the mysterious subject of work-life-balance. I’ll present some ways to identify which companies have the kind of WLB culture that would fit you and talk about practical tools for creating and contributing to that culture at your current and future places of work.

Maya Gershovitz Bar, Software Engineer @ Meta , Writer of Maya's Algorithms:

Maya Gershovitz Bar works as a software developer at Meta. She’s been working as an engineer for the past 10 years, and just made the move from Startups to the corporate world.

She’s the writer of  the popular Blog ‘Maya’s algorithms’, with thousands of monthly views. You can check it out at algoritmim.co.il. In the blog she solves interview questions, design algorithms and dissects the developer’s role.

Maya is the mother of two red-headed viking kids - Raam (5.5 yo) and Shalev (9 mo).

//The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Tech Moms

We all know that being a mother and, at the same time trying to achieve our professional goals is not an easy task. Can it be done without driving ourselves crazy? Of course!

After reading the book ‘The 7 habits of highly effective people’ recently during my own maternity leave, I could find similarities between my life and this book. I was particularly inspired by the sentence ‘We're in charge. We choose the scripts by which to live our lives.’

In this talk, I will share with you what are my 7 habits for effectiveness (some of them are from the book and the rest are my own) that enable me to be the mother I can be proud of and also a professional woman that enjoys her job as an engineering group leader.

Einav Cohen-Hass, Engineering Group Manager @ Next Insurance:

She graduated from the Technion with a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering.

With over 5 years of managing engineering teams and overall 12 years of experience in developing code, system design, and leading features with global teams.
